Teamwork is very important, it’s as sacrosanct to successful work experience as the sun is an ingredient for a sunny day.

Think about it this way, what if in a football team all the other ten players refuse to play with you in other to win, rather everyone of them play selfishly, I dare say your ‘team’ would fail woefully. Thus team work is very essential to achieve victory.

To improve your self-image, you must first have a team spirit and help others succeed. If you are looking to improve yourself and career (which I strongly feel you would love to) you must add a few skills, namely – teamwork, collaboration and readiness to help your fellow colleagues.

At all times, teamwork allows creativity and new ideas to flourish by bringing together different perspectives and strengths.

You’ve relied on people for support right? And if you can recall, their support reduced the pressure on your shoulders which allowed you to achieve the task and come out with superb results.

Teamwork is good for the morale of the organisation, and allows you to achieve greater success at work. It is wise and worthwhile to be a team player and here are five ways out of many to become a team player per excellence.

  1. THE RIGID ROPE IS BRITTLE.

For a team player, the possible first step is to have an open mind to listen and learn. Team players are open to other people’s ideas and views.

This entails honing your listening skills and accepting feedback from sensible colleagues.

When you receive constructive criticism, look at what you can get from their suggestions. A good team player most times does not wait for feedback, he or she goes into the thick forest in search of it.

  1. BEAT DEADLINES, HUG LIFELINES.

As a team player,  your team mates (a good number) will have your back and support you. Therefore, to win the favor of colleagues, trustworthiness is key.

Reliability is important when carrying out team projects and if you beat deadlines the positive impact on the entire team will be massively felt.

You want to establish yourself as someone you trust, someone who can complete high-quality work in a timely manner. To do this always fulfil your pledges.

  1. WHY THEY ACT THE WAY THEY DO

A lot of persons say, “I can’t work with this kind of person or that kind of person”. Well, I have  news for you – somethings are inevitable and you can learn.

Working with people of various personalities can be challenging, However, understanding how each of your colleagues works best can make you a better team player.

People have different temperaments and nature, and by adjusting your communication styles according to different personalities can help you avoid problems with coworkers and collaborate more effectively.

  1. IT’S YOUR TEAM VERSUS SOMETHING ELSE

when working on a team project, It’s understandable that you want to differentiate yourself and yearn to achieve incredible excellence, it is important to see beyond yourself and have the team in perspective.

Be professional and focus on the team’s or company’s success. A team player has as his or her motto – Team first.

  1. CONGRATULATE ACHIEVERS.

Blow the trumpets of your teammates, and not yours. Whenever they achieve any feat, professionally, academically or otherwise, celebrate them and be happy with them.

A team player is humble and would like to see his teammates win in all ramifications. Once you truly understand the importance of teamwork and the value of being a team player, you will want to make sure that you do everything you can to support your colleagues to reach great heights.

Your positive attitude will rub off on them and you will attract them to you the more.

Being a team player is a brilliant endeavor, you portray humility and undiluted diligence which have huge benefits to your career.

Today subscribe to team playing, you mustn’t be the best player or score goals but contribute your quota and help your team win the trophy.
